Generally, high school students could agree that if given a spare ounce of time in the evening, sleep would be their first choice. However, they may not be fully aware of the various T.V comedy shows being missed during this time of the night. Here is a basic review on the top comedy shows to help students decide whether or not they are missing out by putting sleep as top priority.
First on the list is the Chelsea Lately Show. Although this is rather new, it has become one of the most popular late night comedy shows.

"I like this show for so many reasons. Basically the host Chelsea goes over some of the top celebrity news and along the way finds all possible ways to make fun of them. Its not as mean as it is hilarious," said junior Kevin Zoch.

The Chelsea Lately Show appears on channel E!, Monday through Friday at 10 p.m.

Yet another favorite show among students is Saturday Night Live.

"This show is always interesting because there are always new guests which keeps me excited for the next night," said comedy lover Anna Kaelin (’11).

Adding to the T.V comedy review is Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Appearing weeknights on ABC, this show has both teenage and adult humor.
"I think most of the jokes are funny, but others I don’t understand because I think they are more for adults," added Kaelin.

Rounding off the list is The Late Show with David Letterman.

"This show is definitely one of the older ones but it continues to always have something new and funny to discuss," said junior Tess Willson.

All in all, the most popular late night comedy show seemed to be The Chelsea Lately Show.

"Yeah, I would totally agree this comedy show is the most heard of and watched, even by people who normally don’t take interest in comedy," added Willson.

The least common show was Jimmy Kimmel Live!. This most likely is a result of the show airing so late at night; however, it is also possible that the humor is aimed for a much older audience.

So, if ever given some extra time at night, think twice about sleeping and think more about switching on one of these hilarious comedy shows.
