When students look back on high school they think of the people
that influenced their lives and made a difference in their
achievements, some say Media Specialist Nancy Berven is
one of them.

Nancy Berven has been at Stillwater Area High School for over 15 years and she has decided recently to retire. Berven has enjoyed being in the school district for 32 years and has been at SAHS for 15.

"I think when your service and age add up to 90 [it] is a good time to retire," said Berven.

She has enjoyed working at SAHS because of the great environment, the friendly students, kind co-workers and her love for books.

"I was never sick of my job, I love my job. I have good health and I want to retire when I still feel good," said Berven.

Berven is very interested in human rights and she wants to help out as much as she can in the future. In the summer she plans to help people in Honduras working with Heifer International. Along with human rights she is also planning to help end world hunger and poverty. Although she has many other exciting plans for her future retirement she still says she will miss SAHS a lot.

Helping others is her main goal
